Comparisons

No matter what happens in sports, players will always be compared to one another.  Doesn't matter if they're in the sport at the same time, or one is active now and one played 25 years ago.  Comparisons always happen.  In my opinion, everyone can compare players from different time periods all they want, but it really isn't fair to do so.

Sports change dramatically with time.  The talent level, the speed, and especially the athleticism.  Anytime the name LeBron James or Kobe Bryant comes up in conversation, usually Michael Jordan's name comes with them.  The long time debate on who's better than who.  "LeBron James is the next Michael Jordan" or "Kobe will be considered better than MJ once he gets his sixth ring".  SHUT UP.  They're completely different players!

They are all amazing players with completely different styles of basketball.  It's not really fair to them to be compared.  MJ played in the 80's, 90's, and even a short period in the 2000's.  His prime was definitely throughout the 90's.  That's around 20 years ago!  How can you compare the game play from then to now?  You simply can't.  Let them be themselves and quit worrying who's legacy will outshine the others'.
